WORKSHOP on how to manage Projects in FP6

This workshop explains how European Commission funded research projects really work - or fail! These projects can present significant management problems.

They are multi-cultural, mixing organisations large and small, public and private, commercial and non-profit distributing. They are genuinely collaborative: each partner has its own objectives and priorities, which must be reconciled. The scope for misunderstanding, disagreement and delay is large. Too many projects fail to deliver their expected results.

The workshop is aimed at research managers from companies, universities and research institutes involved in EC research projects. It explains the potential problems and how they can be tackled through a combination of planning, monitoring, discussion and diplomacy. It includes an overview, from the perspective of the research manager, of the key elements of consortium agreements which are needed to
manage these projects in Framework Six.

Please note that the nearest large airport to the workshop venue is London Stansted.
