II - ABOUT the FORUM :

The International Forum "Baltic IT&T" has long traditions. It is one of the largest and most significant IT&T events in the Baltic Sea Region, bringing together senior government representatives, experts from European Commission and international organisations, as well as top level executives from the world's leading IT&T companies and other business sectors.

The motto of the forum is “Building Effective Partnership Networks”. The major objective is to establish and promote effective partnerships among the public and the private sectors, associations and other IT&T industry related organisations in the Baltic Sea region.

Among speakers at Baltic IT&T forum have participated many political and industry leaders, for example, H. E. Dr. Vaira Vike-Freiberga, the President of Latvia, Mr. Aigars Kalvitis, Prime Minister of Latvia, Mr. Frans de Bruïne, Director, Information Society Directorate-General, European Commission, Mr. Pekka Lindroos, the Committee for Information, Computer and Communications Policy of OECD, Mr. Bror Salmelin, Head of Unit New Working Environments, Information Society Directorate-General, European Commission, Mr. Erik Hallberg, Senior Vice President, Head of Market Area Baltic Countries, TeliaSonera, Mr. Luis Rodriguez-Roselló, Director, Information Society Technologies Programme of European Commission, Mr. Andrew Lockhart, Vice President Northern Europe, Cisco Systems, Mr. Vicente Parajon Collada, Deputy Director General, Directorate for Information Society of European Commission, Mr. Glenn Edens, Vice President and Chief of Strategic Technology, Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Steven Frantzen, Managing Director/Group Vice President, IDC CEMA and other senior ICT officials from the Baltic Sea Region and European countries. In the previous forum - Baltic IT&T 2005 - more than 500 delegates from 29 countries participated.

The honorary chairman of the Baltic IT&T 2006 Forum is Mr. Aigars Kalvitis, Prime minister of Latvia .
