How to Get the Most out of Köln 2007

"Köln 2007 is essentially unstructured. What you get out of it will depend on how much you put into it in advance"

The event - and this site - will be structured around 40 ' networking booths ', each corresponding to one of the Objectives of the work programme. Logged in visitors to this site can comment on the Objectives using the site's interactive features to increase the effectiveness of their visit to the event.

To get the most out of the event, therefore:

•  Register to the event, in the process creating your Köln 2007 Profile , telling all site visitors about yourself, your organisation and your interests in the field of European ICT research. Be sure to upload a photo so people will be able to recognise you;

•  IST 2006 Participants: use your IST 2006 username and password, and your IST 2006 Profile (address, interests, photo, downloads... ) will be transferred across;

•  Browse the Challenges and the Objectives of the workprogramme using this site's navigation bar (left) to identify the areas of the workprogramme of most interest to you;

•  In early January: Use the ' Express an Interest ' function to comment on the Objectives, suggest ideas for discussion, etc. The conversation which will develop should help you identify who you need to meet on the day.

more

In addition, apart from meeting each other, you will also be able to meet Commission Staff bilaterally to discuss such issues as:

•  the scope and objectives of the work programme

•  the instruments

•  evaluation under FP7

rules for participation and the general working of the programme
