CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Med-e-Tel 2007


You are cordially invited to join us at the Med-e-Tel exhibition and its educational and information program of interactive seminars on eHealth, telemedicine and all possible ICT applications in medicine, which will cover the results of recent or ongoing projects and research, real life experiences and existing programs, product presentations, and exhibitor training sessions. Organized by Luxexpo and supported by a wide range of national and international associations and institutions, this three day meeting and networking event brings together leading specialists to present recent achievements and developments in the field.

Scope

The event focuses on a wide range of medical ICT applications and on the convergence of information and communication technology with medical applications, leading to higher quality of health and social care, widespread availability and accessibility of healthcare services, cost reductions and workflow efficiency. As usual, Med-e-Tel 2007 will bring manufacturers and suppliers as well as service providers in the field of eHealth, together with buyers, healthcare professionals, institutional decision makers, policy makers, healthcare insurers, and other stakeholders. Med-e-Tel provides a unique forum in which clinical and basic researchers and industry and government representatives participate in trans-disciplinary discussions of the latest advances and future directions of eHealth. Thus, Med-e-Tel 2007 not only offers a broad view on the present status of ICT applications in medicine but will explore new ways to improve the efficiency of the utilized state of the art technology in healthcare provision and will define a roadmap for further development of the market. The meeting is a highly beneficial forum for advancing international networking and collaboration .

Attendees are invited to submit abstracts related to these themes so they may have an opportunity to discuss their own work with leaders in the field. Abstracts will be published on the Med-e-Tel website and in the Med-e-Tel exhibition guide. The educational and informational program takes place in the morning and afternoon during the three conference days. Detailed schedule will be available on www.medetel.lu.

Paper submission

The abstract must be prepared according to these guidelines . Authors should submit one page abstract before the deadline, i.e. by January 12, 2007 by e-mail to Med-e-Tel's Educational Program Coordinator, Dr. Malina Jordanova at education@medetel.lu .

Note:
Special registration fee for speakers!
Maximum two presentations are allowed per registration fee!

Accepted papers will be published in a Med-e-Tel electronic proceeding that will be available at the time of the event. Click here for paper submission guidelines. In addition, PowerPoint presentations will also be published on Med-e-Tel website .

Language Official language of the event is English.

Facilities Please note that the halls have facilities for projecting PowerPoint slides. Do not use overhead transparencies !

PowerPoint Presentations PowerPoint 2002 will be used.

To prevent technical problems during Med-e-Tel 2007, after receiving confirmation of acceptance of your presentation, send a copy of your presentation to Med-e-Tel's Educational Program Coordinator Dr. Malina Jordanova, education@medetel.lu, at least 2 weeks before your talk (or even earlier), i.e. before April 1st, 2007! If the file is small enough, please send it by email to education@medetel.lu and confirm with Dr. Jordanova that a suitable media reader is available. Contact phone/fax number is +359 2 979 70 80. Presentations that have extra media embedded or linked, such as movie files, use a relative file path when showing in PowerPoint. Please ensure that your movie is on the CD . It would be advisable to send it 3 weeks prior to the event for testing to minimize technical problems on the day. If this is not possible please forward at least the movie file that is to be used for testing . All movies need to be made to run without extra CODEC's, and can be played on Windows Media Player
