The "Certification Commission for Healthcare IT" has certified two new ambulatory electronic health record systems under its 2007 criteria, bringing the total number of ambulatory EHRs certified under its 2007 criteria to 15, Health Data Management reports.
Sage Software Healthcare's Intergy EHR Version V4 received full certification, while Noteworthy Medical Systems' Noteworthy EHR Version 6.0 system received premarket conditional certification. The Noteworthy EHR will receive full certification once its use at a physician office has been verified ( Health Data Management , 1/23).
CCHIT earlier this week also certified three additional inpatient EHR systems, bringing the total number of certified inpatient EHR systems to nine, or about 36% of all inpatient EHR vendors, Healthcare IT News reports.
In its first year of testing inpatient products, CCHIT is focusing on computerized physician order entry and medication administration capabilities. CCHIT said these areas have the lowest rates of adoption in hospitals but have been shown to offer the highest value for care improvement.
The three new certified inpatient EHR systems are:
- Cerner's Cerner Millennium PowerChart 2007;
- Meditech's Clinical Systems MAGIC 5.6; and
- Siemens Medical Solutions' INVISION Clinical Version 27.0 with Siemens Pharmacy and Med Administration Check Version 24.0.
