The AWARD:
The European Association of Healthcare IT Managers (referred as HITM), as the pan-European interest representation of CIOs and Healthcare IT Managers, invites you to participate in the IT @ NETWORKING AWARDS 2009 (IT @ 2009).
The GOAL:
Believing in the fundamental importance of the pan-European potential of IT pioneers, HITM is committed to increasing their professional authority.
These pioneers need recognition! Their stories will inspire others. The lessons they have learned can help both avoid mistakes and transform healthcare IT challenges into opportunities, into "Made-in-Europe" success stories. This is the goal of IT @ 2009.
SUBMISSION CRITERIA:
IT @ 2009 accepts every project already implemented in at least one site in all areas relevant to healthcare IT such eHealth, Radiology, Cardiology, Laboratory, Health Mangement, IT Integration, amongst many others and can deal with integration, interoperabability between hospital and primary care, quality issues, data security, outsourcing of IT, education and qualification enhancement, etc.
Solutions can be built on both COTS as well as bespoke designs. However, all entries should demonstrate a considerable degree of customisation and show integrity. The project submission should ideally cover the following perspectives:
- IT Focus (CIO, IT Manager)
- Management Focus (CEO, Hospital Manager), and where applicable the
- Focus of the Solution Provider (Company Representative).
Projects shall demonstrate and prove that the solution has either
- minimised administration and costs or
- enhanced quality and security or
- the implementation has eased the workflow.
Candidates should send us a brief 250 word synopsis of their solution – what makes it special and outstanding; what makes it an answer to a European or global challenge.
Presentations by hospital and IT management combined with their industry partners are strongly encouraged in order to demonstrate the necessary bond between dynamic healthcare facilities and forward thinking technology.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
Submissions must be received by 25 September 2009.
FIRST DAY: MINDBITE
All successful submissions for the IT @ 2009 will be allocated 5 minutes for a short presentation (a Mindbyte) on what differentiates their solution and makes it special.
FIRST DAY: VOTING
Voting will immediately follow a synopsis of all presentations, and the finalists will be announced by the Chair of the Organising Committee.
SECOND DAY: WORKBENCH:
Finalists of the IT @ 2009 mindbite will be given 45 minutes to provide an in-depth presentation, followed by a 1/4 hour Q&A session with the audience.
FINAL VOTING AND AWARDS CEREMONY
Final voting will commence immediately after the last presentation followed by the awards ceremony. Out of the finalists, the 3 top rated IT solutions will be awarded a prize.
The winning project will:
- receive the IT @ Networking Awards 2009 Trophy;
- have a detailed presentation of their solution in Europe?s leading healthcare management media, and
- be awarded a cash prize of Euro 5,000.
