eHealth Week 2011 to Focus on Cost and Quality Benefits of IT Solutions in Healthcare

“eHealth in an Age of Austerity: Achieving Maximum Benefit” will be the ultimate goal for the largest “pan-European eHealth conference: eHealth week 2011 (WoHIT).

Currently, European Healthcare establishments are facing substantial challenges going over the next decade: significant demographic changes and reduced human resources forces EU leaders to re-design the European Healthcare landscape.
eHealth week 2011 offers not only an insight into how leaders could plan and invest for the future, but also presents an exhibition where leading Industry partners offer innovative solutions aimed to face and to solve the “economic crisis” in the medium term.  

The European Commission has funded eHealth research with more than 1,182 billion Euros for more than 20 years and has supported more than 450 projects. through its different framework programmes, establishing Europe as the global leader in the field.

The European eHealth market is currently estimated at around EUR15 billion and growing at an annual rate of 2.9%. Among the companies that have already confirmed their participation in the eHealth Week 2011 industry exhibition are AGFA Healthcare, EPIC, Hitachi Data Systems, InterSystems, Microsoft and Oracle.
The Hungarian Presidency of the EU is preparing to host the largest pan-European eHealth conference: “eHealth week 2011” - which will focus on achieving maximum benefit in this age of austerity.

Hosted by the Hungarian Presidency of the EU, “e-health week 2011” represents the largest pan-European eHealth event, together with the collocation of the “European Commission’s High Level Ministerial Conference” and the “World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition (WoHIT)”.
Many other major stakeholder events also take place during e-health week, making “e-Health week 2011” the largest and most complete pan-European eHealth event of the year.

The Conference Program will represent all the major stakeholders participating in this Event, and will feature renown international speaker including Government decision makers, Industry leaders, Hospital Managers and CIOs, Practioners and Patient Groups. 
Panel discussions, debates, high level presentations, and actual case studies, aim to generate evidence of e-Health contribution to best, safe, and quality Healthcare delivery.     

The Plenary Sessions and Debates will be led by a Master of Ceremonies, addressing current e-health topics.
