Annex 4: Table of projects with
key information

This table provides a full alphabetical listing of all projects (contracts) managed by the AIM office during the period 1991-1995 under the 3rd framework programme (1991-1994) or related activities (COPERNICUS, etc.). The table indicates the project acronym, the full title, the type of action (see legend below), the main sector or application domain (see explanation below), the duration of the contract in months, the starting date and the amount of EC contribution in thousands of ECUs (KECU); for most R&TD projects, i.e. shared-costs contracts, the percentage of EC contribution represents roughly 50% of the total project value. For other types of actions, different rules may apply.

Sector, Project Line, or Main Domain of Application (and number of contracts)

The initial set of projects had been grouped into 7 Project Lines as described earlier in this volume, which served as major clusters for the concertation process. The grouping of projects according to the above lines was foreseen as a dynamic process, which was consolidated by taking into account the mutual interests expressed by the consortia during the concertation process and the project life-cycle.

However, as new contracts, including concerted actions, accompanying measures and chartered studies were added to the list of actions funded by the programme resources (or others in collaboration with related European Communities activities), the grouping indicated here down is a final picture representing domains of applications, technology areas or main research field.

  1. Medical and Health Records, Classifications and Coding (15)
  2. Medical Multimedia and Images, Mobility and Education (8)
  3. Knowledge Based and Decision Support Systems (5)
  4. Primary Care and Resources Management (4)
  5. Rehabilitation, Integrated Instrumentation and Biosignals (8)
  6. Telemedicine (10)
  7. Security, Data Protection and Confidentiality and Quality (11)
  8. International Cooperation (7)
