The project aimed at the technical/clinical validation of a new emerging technology which analyses the tiny magnetic fields created by the activity of the human body. The objective was to integrate the magnetic, electric and imaging techniques to investigate the functionality of the human brain into a common pool of structured information. A number of problems are still to be solved, but the technology seems to be very promising. A first practical result was an electronic brain atlas of the brain structures, where functional and topographic information are integrated in a reference database.
