1. Introduction

The EHTO Journal is published quarterly and is the printed medium for information provided by the Observatory. Its rationale is to give an overview of the current healthcare telematics environment and its evolution. As part of this service, the Journal is a vehicle for disseminating information about the progress of the Fourth Framework Programme (4FP) projects and all project co-ordinators are encouraged to contact the Editor to discuss how this can be best achieved.

In addition, regular articles covering the following issues will be published:

The Journal is distributed free to all 4FP project Partners; it is also available by subscription, which can be taken out by contacting info@ehto.org

The responsible Partner for the publication is IHC Ltd, Dublin, headed by Michael Flahive who is a publisher with a background in healthcare telematics publications both in the US and Ireland. The Journal's Editor is Mike McCurry who, as a former senior manager in the NHS, has extensive experience of healthcare telematics in the UK.
