CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service offers a wide variety of easy to access information that can assist you at every stage of your innovation development process. A vital link in the European Commission's Innovation Programme offered by DG XIII/D, Cordis was created to assist European business, industry, and research organizations in transforming breakthrough technology, processes and ideas into market innovations that result in commercial success and overall economic growth.

Accessing CORDIS Information

The Cordis Service offers a variety of different ways to find the information you want in a format that suits your specific needs. You can access CORDIS information on-line, by CD-ROM, over the World Wide Web, or through a wide variety of timely and specialised publications.
On-Line: The core CORDis information is available on-line using a menu system. Watch-CORDIS, the user-friendly Windows access to the CORDIS on-line information, makes it easy for you to search for the specific information you need and allows you to query before connecting to the database, so your telecommunications charges are kept to a minimum.
On-Line Cordis can be accessed using a direct telephone line, a local packet switching data network (PSDN - e.g. X.25) or telnet via the Internet. Usage is free of charge, the user only has to cover the telecommunications expenses.
  
CD-ROM: CORDIS information is also available on CD-ROM. The Cordis CD-ROM is updated quarterly and is available by subscription.
World Wide Web(WWW): This convenient service provides quick facts on the Cordis Services, the ability to submit your information directly to CORDIS interfaces with other relevant R&D information sources, and a full text document service that allows you to reference and download important documents like work programmes, information packages and calls for proposals for all research programmes in the Fourth Framework. Publications: A variety of timely, specialised publications are available to you through Cordis including:
- Cordis focus: a free, twice-monthly overview of the latest news on all aspects of EU research activities.
  
   In addition, a variety of specialised Cordis focus supplements are also available including RTD-Results, a quarterly review of the most promising research results and technologies that require collaboration for further development or market exploitation.
- Euroabstracts: Available by subscription, this bi-monthly publication reviews important new research publications.
