Figure 9: E.H.T.O. MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
The management arrangements for the European Health Telematics Observatory reflect the importance on the one hand of close links with the Commission, both as paymaster and as user of the Observatory, and with the health care sector (users and policy decisors) and the telematics related industry on the other hand. The views of this last group of interacting key actors in the health telematics market, will be brought together under the umbrella of an Strategic Board which will have a strong role in relation to the information updating that is need to the project both on the users and the market strategy and on potential alliances.
It is also planned to establish close links with trans-sectoral support actions (Cordis, relevant actions in programs such as DELTA, ACTS, etc.).
The external project management arrangements envisage strong collaboration between the activities under the responsibility of all partners in the consortium, and for major decisions on the strategy of the project, agreement should be obtained from both the Project Management Board and the Health Telematics Office of the Commission.
On the internal management arrangements, the management function will involve programming and monitoring activities in relation to workpackages and deliverables and submission of all relevant documents to the Commission.
The global Project management activities will accompany all stages of the development of the Observatory in order to ensure that the project meets its targets and deadlines.
