Responsible Partner: IHC (P04)

Objectives

To support the overall objectives of the Observatory by publishing the Observatory Journal which will assist in providing a bridge between supply and demand, and targets the Fourth Framework Programme Healthcare Telematics Projects, healthcare provider sector decision makers and service providers.

Rationale

To give an overview of the current healthcare telematics environment, to disseminate information about the Observatory's services, and report on the development of healthcare telematics applications in Europe and beyond, through regular contact with 4FP project co-ordinators and Member States representatives.

The Journal will provide added value to the Information/Knowledge base, by providing an electronic version on the Web.

Description

To set up an Editorial Board comprising partners from the EHTO Consortium and members from outside.(This recommendation was made by the Review Panel in October 1996).

To publish a quarterly Journal which will include material, such as:

• Observatory services updates
• Spotlight interviews with leading personalities in the field
• News from the Commission
• 4FP project updates
• Member States reports
• Major conference reports
• Forthcoming events
• G7 project reports
• Global issues
• EHTO and the healthcare telematics industry

To institute a readership survey at an appropriate time in the life cycle of the Observatory.
