Preparation, setting up and organization of the IST 2001 (Information
Society Technologies) event, i.e. the preparation, setting up and
organization of the conference, preparation, setting up and organization
of the exhibition, preparation, setting up and organization of the
audiovisual facilities, the Website and the prize-giving ceremony
for the 'European Information Society Technologies Prize'.
The invitation to tender involves 3 specific lots.
Lot 1) preparation, setting up and organization of the IST 2001
conference which will bring approximately 4 000 delegates together.
Lot 2) preparation, setting up and organization of the exhibition
which will take place over an surface area of ± 4 000 m2.
Lot 3) preparation, setting up and organization of audiovisual facilities,
the Web and the prize-giving ceremony for the 'European Information
Society Technologies Prize'.
3. Place where the services will be provided: The services
will be provided on the service provider's premises, except for
tasks which, if necessary, are to be carried out at the 'Congress
Center Düsseldorf'.
4. (a) Statutory or administrative restrictions with respect
to tendering:
1) Professional conference organizers;
2) companies specializing in the design and construction of exhibitions;
3) companies specializing in audiovisual and multimedia fields,
in creating and managing Websites and in producing events.

5. Division into lots: Each candidate may tender for 1 or
more lots, or for all the lots.
6. Variants: Variants are not permitted.
7. Contract duration: The work is to be carried out over
a 5-month period from the date on which the contract is signed.
8. (a) Requests for documents: As in 1.
b) Final date for making such requests: 26.5.2001.
Should a request be made by fax, it must be confirmed by letter
sent before the final date for requests.
c) Requests for tender documents: Tender documents may be obtained
free of charge.
9. (a) Final date for submission of tenders: 18.6.2001.

c) Language: Tenders must be drawn up in 1 of the official languages
of the European Union.
10.(a) Persons authorized to be present at the opening of tenders:
European Commission representatives and 1 duly authorized representative
per tenderer.

11.Guarantees: The service provider is to provide a guarantee
for a value equalling that of the European Commission's initial
payment, made at the time the contract is signed.

13.Legal form for groupings of service providers: Each candidate
may apply as a sole tenderer or may be associated with other tenderers.
Should a joint tender be submitted by several candidates, a lead
body must be designated to be wholly liable for the contract and
the carrying out thereof.
