EU - China IPR SME Helpdesk, a web service dedicated to intellectual property in China was recently launched.

A new Web site on intellectual property rights (IPR) was recently launched on the basis of an EU funded project: the "China IPR SME Helpdesk".

This Helpdesk aims at introducing European SMEs to the protection and enforcement of their intellectual property rights in China. The Helpdesk's services are free of charge and offered in its offices by appointment (in 8 of the main Chinese cities), through telephone and online enquiry points.

European STEP project and Chinese VMHC sign a bilateral cooperation agreement on the Virtual Physiological Human

Following various contacts between the scientific coordinators of the two initiatives, a bilateral agreement of International Cooperation was reached. It includes the promotion of the concept of Virtual Physiological Human in China and the establishment of closer research relationship between the VMHC project and European projects with similar interests, such as the Living Human Project.

The 2nd "Euro-China Workshop on Home Networks and Platforms"

Dear colleague,

We have the pleasure to invite you to attend the 2nd “Euro-China Workshop on Home Networks and Platforms” , organized in Beijing (PR China) on May 29, 2006 under the aegis of the European Commission and of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), with the support of the BIP IST project.

The event is designed to provide European and Chinese organizations with a key opportunity to:

- access detailed information on technology & market status and perspectives in both regions,
- network with the key organizations of both regions involved in the domain,
- get important visibility through a (oral or poster) presentation and an exhibition,
- be supported in setting up pre-arranged business meetings,
- visit, after the event, Chinese leading companies and pilot sites in the Connected home area.

Participation in the event is free of charge thanks to the financial support granted by the European Commission. However, pre-registrations are compulsory, requests being confirmed on a “first come - first served” basis. Early registrations are therefore highly recommended.

7th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT)
